12 Years old, you walk in on a dance scene full of people and girls smiling towards you. Music is pumping so hard so you cant hear your own thoughts. But it doesn’t matter, because the rhythm makes you feel good. People drag you out on the dance floor and you start dancing even though you have never danced before. Sweat is pouring down in your face but you continue to dance with a angelo azzurro in your hand, stronger than drinking Whiskey directly out of the bottle. Someone offers you a cigarette and you smile saying that you dont smoke, even though you probably will end up with one sticking out of your mouth a few hours later anyway.
Suddenly a complete silence from the speakers as a big pipe stuck in the roof begins to move apart. Dancers twice your age dressed in skirts that end at their navel appear in a thick cloud of smoke and starts to dance to the rhythm, everybody screams. You look up in the roof and start turning around with your hands in the air as the disco light flashes you in the face and the bass beat kicks you in the chest. There is only one place on this planet that could make me feel like I was in another world for the first time.

I was really happy today. I was of to the Department of public safety to get a state ID since walking around with the visa and passport in the pocket is not a good idea, especially not when you are drunk. SO I quit early from work and went to their office. After a few minutes in the line it was my turn and I thought to myself “wow this is easier than I thought!”. First she looked at my papers and then she gave me a form to fill out. I was also required to show my social security card. Damn!, I didnt bring that. Had to go home and get it but I still had a lot of time before they closed so I was still happy. After 30 min of driving home and back I could present both my Social security card and my form. But this time she only looked at my visa and said: “Im sorry sir, your visa is only valid for 11 months and we require 12!”. She could see how my face turned red of anger as I steared at here like a little pleasant sheep ready to be eaten.
So I tried to confince her: Seriously!? Im going to be here for 11 months. Do you honestly think it is such a good idea for me to walk around with the most important document for me to legally be able to stay here??
Oh no, I wouldn’t do that!!………………….but there is nothing I can do, Im really sorry.
Probably the worst answer I have ever heard…
So I am telling this to all the people that are going to the United States (who are not planning to get a driving license) make sure your visa is valid for 12 months!
Now Im just going to stay at home eating popeye’s and watching bad romantic comedies until Im leaving.
Just kidding…..
Just wanted to recommend a cool site that I found where you can watch movies, tv shows, sports, cartoons etc…
I don’t know if you are able to access this page from Europe but hopefully you are. The quality might not be the best but atleast you are able to watch video without paying for it!

Finaly the papers arrived with FedEx yesterday. I got a checklist on two pages with forms and material that I should prepear. Anyway, I am still happy. Just have to book the interview at the embassy as soon as possible and fix my international driving license before it is to late.
